CPS West Yorkshire Community Involvement Panel
The purpose of the Community Involvement Panel (CIP) is to work with CPS West Yorkshire to raise understanding and improve confidence amongst the diverse communities of interest and the Voluntary, Community and Faith sectors in West Yorkshire.
The Panel currently comprises 10 members with a combined interest in and experience of the following issues:
- race/ethnicity
- victim and witness care
- rape
- domestic violence
- faith, mental health
- refugee issues
- Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender issues
- Youth
- Hate crime
Members of the Panel advise the CPS locally on the development and delivery of strategies, including Area Business Plans and Community Engagement Strategies.
They explore innovative ways in which we can raise awareness of our role and increase confidence within communities in West Yorkshire.
They offer their expertise, knowledge and experience of communities in West Yorkshire in order to advise the organization on how to reach people within those communities.
The Panel participates in joint planning and decision making, designed to ensure that we are inclusive in our approach to our business and that community views are incorporated into our decision making.
The Panel members also challenge our methods and thinking regarding Community Engagement to enable us to develop a more effective and meaningful programme of engagement with local communities.
