Castree Convicted of Molseed Murder

12/11/2007

Ronald Castree (54) today starts a life behind bars, as a jury at Bradford Crown Court found him guilty of the murder of school girl Lesley Molseed some 32 years ago.

Malcolm Taylor, Special Casework Lawyer of CPS West Yorkshire's Complex Casework Unit said:

"The innovative and detailed investigation and prosecution by the West Yorkshire Police, the Forensic Science Service, CPS West Yorkshire and Counsel has played a major part in bringing to justice the man who kidnapped and murdered Lesley Molseed.

"Our thoughts are with Lesley's family, in the hope that this result will bring a measure of closure to an ordeal which has lasted over 30 years."
