Bradford Rioter Gets Custodial Sentence

A Bradford rioter who handed himself into the police five years after the Bradford riots has been given a 27 month custodial sentence today.
Kabir Hussain, 26, last appeared at Bradford Crown Court on 19 January 2007 when he pleased guilty to a charge of rioting for throwing missiles at the police on three occasions throughout the evening of the 7th - 8th July 2001. His aggressive actions were captured on video footage. The Court today gave Hussain a 27 month sentence for his behaviour during the riots.
Peter mann, Area Crown Prosecutor at Bradford said: "The sentence imposed by the court today demonstrates that aggressive behaviour directed towards the police will not be tolerated and that sentences will be commensurate with offences, even where a substantial period of time has elapsed between the offence and prosecution."
There is now only one remaining Bradford riot suspect untraced.
