05/10/2007
The West Yorkshire Criminal Justice Board (WYCJB) will be holding a Question Time event in Bradford on October 15th at 7:00pm.
This free Q&A session is the third in an ongoing series of events that invites the public to share their views on the criminal justice issues - and the focus for this meeting is youth crime.
The local community are invited to explore where the next generation are heading, debate if ASBOs work and discuss what can be done to make communities safer with a panel of experts in this field.
The WYCJB consists of chief officers of all the major criminal justice agencies - West Yorkshire Polic, the crown Prosecution Service, the Court Servce, Probation Service, Youth Offending Team and the Prison Service.
Guest speakers include Senior Crown Prosecutor and ASBO specialist Alisha Kaye and Inspector Janet Ballance from West Yorkshire Police's Schools and Youth Liaison Team.
Deputy Chief Constable and Chair of the Board Julia Hodgson said: "Holding Q&A events in community venues across the county gives representatives from all the agencies a chance to meet the public and listen to local viewpoints."
"We want to work with West Yorkshire residents to see how we can jointly tackle anti-social behaviour, challenge offending, encourage responsibility and reduce crime across the county."
