Nick Hawkins, CCP for CPS Wessex meets Police and Crime Commissioners candidate

05/11/2012

The first election for the Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs) will take place on 15 November 2012. CPS Wessex works closely with criminal justice agencies in Wessex to improve our work and stop delaying justice.

The criminal justice agencies in Wessex include the police forces for Dorset, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight and Wiltshire, the Judiciary and Her Majesty Courts and Tribunal Service.

I am very keen that CPS Wessex builds strong partnerships with the PCCs and this is why in August I met Martyn Underhill, independent candidate for Dorset and on 24 October met Michael Mates, conservative candidate for Hampshire.  I have explained to each of them the role of the CPS and my vision for our Area.

I would like to invite any PCC candidate wishing to find out more about the CPS Wessex to contact my office to arrange a meeting, and I look forward to meeting the three elected PCCs after they take up post.

Nick Hawkins, Chief Crown Prosecutor for the Crown Prosecution Service in Wessex.
