Man charged with the rape of two women

Julia Woodward, Senior Crown Prosecutor for the Rape and Serious Sexual Offences Unit of the Crown Prosecution Service Wessex quotes on the Dean Goodwin charge.

"I have today authorised Dorset Police  to charge Dean Goodwin, 30,  from Dorset with four offences of rape and one of false imprisonment on a woman on 23 November 2012 in Poole and the rape of another woman on 26 November 2012, which is alleged to have taken place in Andover. I have also authorised Dorset Police to charge Dean Goodwin with an offence of burglary with dwelling and theft which occurred between 23/11/2012-26/11/2012 and an offence of burglary other than dwelling that occurred on 25 November 2012.

Dean Goodwin has also been charged with an offence of attempted murder on one of the victims.

I reached my decision after carefully considered the evidence provided to me by the police and I am satisfied that there is sufficient evidence and it is in the public interest to prosecute Dean Goodwin with these offences. This decision was made in accordance with the Code for Crown Prosecutors.

Goodwin will appear at Bournemouth Magistrates' Court on Thursday 29 November 2012
