Women sentenced for having sexual intercourse with boys

29/03/2012

Davina Travi was sentenced today at Bournemouth Crown Court to two and half years for having sexual intercourse with two boys whilst they were only thirteen and fourteen years of age.

Following the sentence, Maria Sciberras, Senior Crown Prosecutor for the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) in Wessex said:

'Davina Travi, a 42-year-old mother of five children was today sentenced for having sexual intercourse with two boys whilst they were only thirteen and fourteen years of age.

"It was the prosecution case that Davina Travi incited the two youths to commit criminal damage upon her ex-lover's partner's car with the promise of rewarding them with sex.

"She also sent more than 500 texts to one of the youths who had sex with her.

"There is no doubt that she used the age and immaturity of these youths for her own advantage.

"The jury at Bournemouth Crown Court also heard that parties were held at her house during which she socialised with young people, letting them smoke and drink.

"It is a criminal offence for any adult to have a sexual relationship with youths under the age of sixteen. We hope that this prosecution will enable other teenagers or parents to recognise a similar situation and come forward to the police."
