CPS authorised woman to be charged with the murder of Portland man

Michael Mackey, Crown Advocate for Wessex Crown Prosecution Service said: "I have authorised today Dorset Police to charge Carol Kemp, 44, from Torquay, Devon, with the murder of her partner, Martin Rusling, 43, from Portland who died of a fatal stab wound to his chest at his house on Park Road, Easton, Portland, (Dorset), on 28th December 2011.

"I have carefully reviewed the file of evidence provided to me by the police and I am satisfied that there is sufficient evidence and that it is in the public interest to charge Carol Kemp with this offence.

"This decision was made in accordance with the Code for Crown Prosecutors."

Carol Kemp will appear at Bournemouth Magistrates' Court on 31st December 2011.
