Prolific offender from Holyhead jailed

28/02/2017

38-year-old Holyhead man Barry Winters was sentenced to four years and nine months imprisonment for a number of domestic burglaries committed over a period of ten days in Treaddur Bay, Anglesey in August and September 2016. The Judge sentencing the case described Winters as a "one man crime wave."

Huw Evans Senior Crown Prosecutor for CPS Cymru-Wales said: "Burglary is a frightening crime. The violation of privacy is sometimes the aspect which affects people more than the obvious financial loss.

"Winters did this on more than one occasion in a short period of time. With the support of the local community and thorough investigations the CPS presented a good case to the Court.

"Anyone that commits this crime should expect the full weight of the law to be used to bring them to justice."
