Indecent images found on GP's computer

A GP from a Cardiff practice has been sentenced today for possession of thousands of indecent images of children.

Armon Daniels, 55, who worked at Rumney Primary Care Centre, had his computer seized by police when they executed a search warrant at his home.

The analysis conducted of the computer and two USB sticks discovered over 16,000 images of children and over 800 video files.

Catrin Evans of the Crown Prosecution Service said: "A significant number of images and videos of a sexual nature had been downloaded to the devices recovered.

"The public rightly expect the highest standards of conduct from medical professionals and by committing these criminal offences, through viewing indecent images of children, Armon Daniels has not upheld those standards."

Daniels was sentenced to eight months imprisonment, suspended for two years, twenty days of Rehabilitation Activity Requirement and 120 hours of unpaid work. He was also ordered to register as a sex offender for seven years and a seven year Sexual Harm Prevention Order was imposed.
