Nationally the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) employs around 8800 staff across its 42 Areas in England and Wales; over 92% of whom are engaged in, or support, frontline prosecutions.
Within the CPS Thames and Chiltern region, we employ a total of 412 staff. In CPS Thames Valley (covering Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire) we employ around 232 staff. In CPS Hertfordshire we employ 112 and in CPS Bedfordshire we employ 68 staff.
CPS Thames Valley has offices in Reading, Cowley and Aylesbury; CPS Hertfordshire has offices in St Albans and Stevenage and CPS Bedfordshire has offices in Luton and Bedford. Prosecutors can also be based in charging centres within police stations throughout the five counties.
