Woman charged with murder - Luton

Thames and Chiltern Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has authorised officers from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit to charge a woman with murder in Luton.

Sabah Khan, aged 26, of Overstone Road, Luton, was arrested on Tuesday, 31 May 2016, and was charged yesterday, Wednesday, 01 June 2016, with murder.

The charge is in connection with the death of Saima Khan, aged 34, who was found deceased inside her property in Overstone Road, Luton, last Monday, 23 May 2016.

Adrian Foster, Chief Crown Prosecutor for Thames and Chiltern Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said: "Following an investigation by the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit, a file was forwarded to us to consider whether any criminal charges could be brought against Sabah Khan.

"Having carefully reviewed all of the available evidence, Thames and Chiltern CPS authorised officers from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit to charge Sabah Khan with murder.

"The charge is in connection with the death of Saima Khan, aged 34, who was found deceased inside her property in Overstone Road, Luton, last Monday, 23 May 2016.

"The decision to charge was taken in accordance with the Code for Crown Prosecutors."

Sabah Khan has been remanded in police custody to appear at Luton Magistrates' Court today, Thursday, 02 June 2016.
