Two men charged with murder - Abingdon


Thames and Chiltern Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has authorised officers from Thames Valley Police to charge two men with the murder of a woman in Abingdon.

Billy Johnson, aged 20, from Ripon Court, Corby, Northamptonshire, and Charles Noble, aged 20, from Kempton Avenue, Northolt, Ealing, London, were charged with murder yesterday evening, Wednesday, 11 November 2015.

The charges are in connection with an incident, which occurred at around 8.20pm last Tuesday, 03 November 2015, when the emergency services were called to a report of the shooting of 26-year-old Kerry Reeves in Thornhill Walk off Northcourt Road, Abingdon. Kerry was taken to hospital where she sadly died on Thursday, 05 November 2015.

Adrian Foster, Chief Crown Prosecutor for Thames and Chiltern Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said: "Following an investigation by Thames Valley Police, a file was forwarded to us to consider whether any criminal charges could be brought against these two men.

"Having carefully reviewed all of the available evidence, Thames and Chiltern CPS authorised officers from Thames Valley Police to charge them with the murder of 26-year-old Kerry Reeves.

"Kerry died following an incident in Thornhill Walk, Abingdon, which occurred on the evening of Tuesday, 03 November 2015.

"The decision to charge was taken in accordance with the Code for Crown Prosecutors."

Both men have been remanded in police custody to appear at Oxford Magistrates' Court today, Thursday, 12 November 2015.
