Two men charged following serious assault - Newport Pagnell

Thames and Chiltern Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has authorised officers from Thames Valley Police to charge one man with attempted murder and Section 18 wounding with intent, and another man with S18 wounding with intent.

Kieran Fowler, aged 23, of Radnor Road in Luton, was charged with attempted murder and Section 18 wounding with intent and Alan Fowler, aged 48, of Lollard Close in Luton, was charged with Section 18 wounding with intent.

The charges relate to an incident, which occurred on Sunday, 26 October 2014, in Rowditch Furlong, Newport Pagnell, where a 42-year-old man sustained serious head and facial injuries.

Adrian Foster, Chief Crown Prosecutor for Thames and Chiltern Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said: "Following an investigation by Thames Valley Police, a file was forwarded to us to consider whether any criminal charges could be brought against Kieran Fowler and Alan Fowler.

"Having carefully reviewed all of the available evidence, Thames and Chiltern CPS authorised officers from Thames Valley Police to charge Kieran Fowler with attempted murder and Section 18 wounding with intent and Alan Fowler with Section 18 wounding with intent.

"The charges relate to an incident, which occurred on Sunday, 26 October 2014, in Rowditch Furlong, Newport Pagnell, where a 42-year-old man sustained serious head and facial injuries.

"The decision to charge was taken in accordance with the Code for Crown Prosecutors."

Both men were remanded in police custody to appear at Milton Keynes Magistrates Court today, Tuesday, 28 October 2014.
