Teenager sentenced for attempted murder - Bucks

A 16-year-boy has been sentenced to 14-years in prison for the attempted murder of his foster mother in Beachampton, Buckinghamshire.

The 16-year-old who cannot be named for legal reasons was sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court on Friday, 27 April 2012.

The victim, a 58-year-old woman was asleep in her living room at around 2am on 26 October 2011, when she woke to find someone kneeling over her, with a knife in his hand. She instinctively put her hands up and grabbed the blade to stop the offender from stabbing her in the throat.

They struggled over the blade, during which time the victim suffered severe injuries to her hands and was bleeding profusely. The victim managed to get upright and screamed and the boy fled the scene.
