Teenager found guilty of murder - Hertfordshire

A teenager from Borehamwood has today, Tuesday, 24 July 2012, been found guilty at St Albans Crown Court of the murder of 19-year-old Catherine Wynter.

Catherine Wynter, also known as Katie Briscoe, was stabbed to death at a house in Beech Drive, Borehamwood, Hertfordshire on Boxing Day 2011.

The court heard that 19-year-old Tony Bushby had set up fake Facebook accounts.  He used the accounts to talk to Katie, who believed she was talking to his friends.  He used his fictitious friends to say things about himself to gain her trust before killing her.

He is due to be sentenced tomorrow morning, Wednesday, 25 July 2012.

A further, more detailed press release including quotes will be issued post sentence tomorrow.
