Shop worker sentenced for murder - Bedford


Shop worker Thilak Mohan-Raj appeared at Luton Crown Court today, Friday, 11 October 2013, and was sentenced for murdering his boss - Vairamuthu Thiyagarajah, after he was caught stealing the £2500 takings from a convenience store in Bedford.

Mohan-Raj was found guilty of the murder yesterday, Thursday, 10 October 2013 at Luton Crown Court by an 11 to 1 majority verdict.  He had previously pleaded guilty to the burglary.

For the murder, Mohan-Raj was jailed for life and is to serve a minimum of 25 years before being considered for parole.   He was also sentenced to 2 years imprisonment for the burglary,, which will run concurrently.
