Road rage motorbike rider jailed - St Albans


A road rage motorbike rider who drove over his victim's foot and caused a cut to his face when he fell to the ground was jailed for 7 years today, Thursday, 06 June 2013.

Derek Potts,  39, was also banned from driving for 10 years by Judge Stephen Gullick who ordered him to take an extended re-test before he regains his licence.

Potts of Rowan Drive, Broxbourne was convicted by a jury at St Albans Crown Court of wounding with intent.

He was riding a Suzuki in High Road, Wormley at a quarter to 12 (midday) on 13 August last year when he exchanged words with driver Ryan O'Conner before he drove off causing the injuries.

Police and ambulance crews were called and Mr O'Connor was taken to hospital.
