Operation Rupert - men charged


Thames and Chiltern Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has authorised officers from Thames Valley Police to charge four men with drugs offences as follows:

  • Jason Bailey, aged 28, of Lindsay Avenue, Northampton, was charged with acquiring criminal property, and conspiracy to supply a Class A drug.
  • Robert Burnett, aged 29, of Churchfield, Harlow, Essex, was charged with conspiracy to supply a Class A drug.
  • Michael Mullen, aged 33, of Seaton Grove, Broughton, Milton Keynes, was charged with three counts of conspiracy to supply a Class A drug, and one count of failing to provide a sample for drug testing.
  • Wayne Shirley, aged 42, of Laburnam Avenue, London, was charged with two counts of conspiracy to supply a Class A drug.

Fifteen warrants under the Misuse of Drugs Act were executed on Friday, 02 August 2013, in Milton Keynes, Northampton, Harlow in Essex, and Edmonton in North London, as part of Operation Rupert, which targets groups believed to purchase and supply cocaine.

All four men were remanded in police custody to appear at Milton Keynes Magistrates' Court this morning, Monday, 05 August 2013.

Four other people arrested in connection with these offences were released on police bail until early October.
