Men jailed for metal theft/burglary

Four Polish men all living rough in Luton have been jailed after they broke into a disused office in Luton.

The office in Cardiff Road was undergoing renovations at the time.

Luton Crown Court heard on Friday, 10 February 2012 how on the morning of 19 November last year the owner of the offices turned up to find the four were in the process of cutting up and removing copper piping. Police were called and the four were arrested.

Officers discovered on them hacksaw blades, a torch, pliers and a suitcase loaded with cut copper piping.

Adam Piekarski, 41, was jailed for 22-months, Maciej Waz, 30, was jailed for 21-months, Robert Sak, 37, was jailed for 18-months, and Grzegorz Molinski, 35, was jailed for 20-months after they admitted a charge of burglary.
