Man pleads not guilty to Jayden Parkinson murder - Didcot


A man appeared at Oxford Crown Court today, Monday, 17 March 2014, charged with the murder of Jayden Parkinson.

The body of 17-year-old Jayden was found in an established grave in the Great Western Cemetery next to All Saints Church, Didcot, on 18 December last year.

Ben Blakeley, aged 22, of Christchurch Road, Reading, pleaded not guilty to Jayden's murder.  He pleaded guilty to manslaughter,  but this plea was rejected by the prosecution.  He also pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice in relation to the investigation and will be sentenced for this offence at a later date.

A 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded not guilty to perverting the course of justice in connection with Jayden's murder.

The case was adjourned for a trial, which is due to start at Oxford Crown Court on Monday, 16 June 2014.
