Man jailed for sexually abusing young girls - Bedford

Bedford man Jason Manning was today, Thursday, 12 September 2013, jailed for 19 years for sexually abusing three young girls.

Manning appeared for sentence at St Albans Crown Court after being found guilty at the end of a trial earlier this year of a string of sex offences.

The 40-year-old from Coventry Road, Bedford, was told by Judge Steven Warner he was "manipulative , controlling and dangerous" and he represented a continuing danger to the public.

He was sentenced having been found guilty of indecency with a child, nine offences of indecent assault, attempted rape, two offences of rape of a girl under 13, three offences of rape, four offences sexual assault of a child under 13, and causing a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity.

He was found not guilty of one count of the rape of a girl under 13.

The judge ordered his name goes on the Sex Offenders' Register for an indefinite period.

He told Manning: "I am satisfied you are a danger and there is a significant risk of further offences by you and you represent a continuing danger to the public and you require an extended sentence to protect the public."
