Man jailed for serious assault - High Wycombe

A man appeared at Reading Crown Court on Monday, 14 April 2014, and was jailed for seven years for assaulting a man with a knife.

David Summerland,  aged 37,  of Queens Road, High Wycombe, was found guilty by a jury of one count of grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent following a trial at Aylesbury Crown Court in March.

On 27 November last year Summerland had an argument with a 32-year-old man in Queen's Road, High Wycombe.

During the row, Summerland caused a 6cm laceration to the victim's head, which cut down to the bone and required hospital treatment.

It is believed the weapon used to cause the injury was a kitchen knife.
