Man jailed for second time for indecent images - Leighton Buzzard

12/08/2016

Having served time in jail for accessing indecent images of children, Colin Williams was caught a second time with vile pictures and videos on his computer.

Not only were his actions illegal they also flouted a court order restricting his use of the internet.

On Friday, 12 August 2016, he appeared over a video link at Luton Crown Court to be jailed for a second time.

Williams, aged 32 of Nelson Road, Leighton Buzzard pleaded guilty to eleven charges connected with viewing indecent images and breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).

Judge Philip Bartle QC told him: "What makes this case so much worse is that it is not the first time you have been before the court for exactly the same offence. The order you were under was specifically intended to prevent you committing further offences, but despite that you have gone on to repeat the very offences for which you were dealt with in 2015."

Daniel Siong, prosecuting for Thames and Chiltern Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), said police went to William's home with a search warrant in June this year, a year after he was released from prison. Indecent images were found on his phone and computer hard drive. They were of children as young as four involved in sexual activity with adults.

Tayo Hassan, defending, said: "He was binging on alcohol at the time and lacking self esteem. He knows he is going to prison again and hopes to receive a structured programme to help him. He now accepts that what he has done is intolerable and despicable."

Williams was jailed for 12 months and a new SHPO was made to last for 15 years.
