Man jailed for domestic abuse - Reading

A 21-year-old Reading man has been jailed for a total of four years after committing a series of domestic abuse offences against a former partner.

Kieran Pretlove, of Laburnham Gardens, Whitley, Reading, was sentenced at Reading Crown Court on Friday, 03 August 2012.

Pretlove was found guilty of one count of kidnapping, one count of common assault, two counts of false imprisonment, and eight counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm after a two week trial in June at Reading Crown Court. Pretlove also pleaded guilty to one count of driving whilst disqualified.

Pretlove was arrested in January 2012 for multiple offences against his former girlfriend that spanned between September 2011 to January 2012.

On Friday, Her Honour Judge Morris sentenced Pretlove to a total of four years imprisonment for each offence to run concurrently. Passing sentence, Judge Morris told Pretlove: "You are a person who has no hesitation to bully people to get what you want and that is exactly what you are, you are a violent bully."
