Man jailed for child sexual offences - Slough

A man appeared at Reading Crown Court today, Monday, 20 April 2015, and was jailed for 16 years for child sex offences in Slough.

Andrew Picton, aged 66, of Eastcroft Close, Blagdon, Bristol, was found guilty of the offences at Reading Crown Court on 05 February 2015, following a four-week trial.

He was sentenced to eight years' imprisonment for each of the two counts of rape, to run consecutively, 21 months' imprisonment for each of the three counts of indecent assault, to run concurrently, three years' imprisonment for each of the five counts of indecent assault to run concurrently and 21 months' imprisonment for each of the three counts of indecency with a child, to run concurrently, making a total of 16 years imprisonment.

The offences took place in Slough between 06 March 1984 and 12 February 1995 and involved two girls aged between 6 and 16.

The crimes were reported to Thames Valley Police on 29 August 2012, and Picton was arrested on 06 February 2013 and charged on 28 November 2013.
