Man jailed for burglaries - Cookham


A man appeared at Reading Crown Court yesterday, Wednesday, 06 November 2013, and was jailed for six years and three months for a number of burglaries and other offences in Cookham near Maidenhead.

Jason McLeod, aged 39, of Foliejohn Way, Maidenhead, was sentenced for four counts of burglary, one count of driving whilst disqualified, and one count of driving without insurance after pleading guilty to the offences on the first day of his trial.

The burglaries all occurred in Cookham on 28 June this year.  During each offence McLeod gained entry to the properties through unsecure rear or side doors.  A variety of electrical items, handbags, bankcards and cash were stolen during the burglaries.

In one instance, McLeod was confronted by the homeowner in the downstairs of the property.

Following the offences, McLeod was captured on CCTV trying withdraw funds from the stolen bankcards.
