Man jailed for 1987 and 1989 rapes - Marlow and Wembley


A 51-year-old man has today, Friday, 30 March 2012 been given a life sentence for two historic rapes.

John Walker, from Cotterells, Hemel Hempstead, was sentenced at Oxford Crown Court having previously admitted one count of rape and one count of indecent assault in connection with an attack on an 18-year-old woman at Marlow railway station in 1989, and one count of rape and two further counts of indecent assault in relation to an attack on a 25-year-old woman in Wembley in 1987.

Walker was sentenced to life imprisonment to serve a minimum term of seven and a half years.

Walker was arrested by Thames Valley Police officers in October last year after the case was reinvestigated by the Major Crime Review Team (MCRT).
