Man convicted of wounding - Aylesbury


A man was today, Monday, 11 May 2015, convicted at Reading Crown Court of Section 18 wounding with intent after stabbing a man in the neck in Aylesbury causing life-changing injuries.

David Clarke, aged 63, of no fixed abode, was found guilty by jury following a five-day trial at Reading Crown Court.

On 08 September 2014, Clarke purchased a knife from a hardware shop in Aylesbury.  At 2.20pm on the same day he entered Babs Food and Wine store in Buckingham Street, Aylesbury where he asked the victim, 25-year-old shop assistant Rushatharan Asok for assistance.

While Mr Asok was leaning forwards to help Clarke, Clarke stabbed him in the neck before leaving the shop.

Clarke was arrested on the same day and charged with the offence on 10 September 2014.

Clarke has been remanded in custody and will be sentenced at Reading Crown Court on Monday, 29 June 2015.
