Man convicted of servitude - Iver


A man has today, Tuesday, 16 September 2014, been convicted at Aylesbury Crown Court of holding a person in servitude.

John Rooney, aged 35, of Holly Bush Lane in Iver, Buckinghamshire, was convicted by a jury on a unanimous verdict following a week long trial.

Between 01 January 2013, and 16 May 2013, Rooney held a 30-year-old man and a 43-year-old man by coercion and made them provide work and services for him and his family.  The victims indicated that they had been forced to work for Rooney for over a year.

Rooney has been remanded in custody and will be sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court on Friday, 26 September 2014.
