Man charged with sex offences - Oxfordshire

Thames and Chiltern Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has authorised officers from Thames Valley Police to charge a man with a number of historic sex offences.

Roger Kerr, aged 51, of Surbiton Hill Park, Surbiton, Surrey, was charged on Tuesday, 12 November 2013, with two charges of indecent assault on a male under 16, three charges of indecent assault on a male 16 and over, and gross indecency with a boy under 16.

Ruth Bowskill, Temporary Chief Crown Prosecutor for Thames and Chiltern Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said: "Following an investigation by Thames Valley Police, a file was forwarded to us to consider whether any criminal charges could be brought against Roger Kerr.

"Having carefully reviewed all of the available evidence, Thames and Chiltern CPS authorised officers from Thames Valley Police to charge the man with a number of historic sex offences.

"The charges relate to four victims over the period of 1999 and 2003, when Kerr was a teacher at an Oxfordshire secondary school.

The decision to charge was taken in accordance with the Code for Crown Prosecutors."

Kerr has been released on police bail to appear at Aylesbury Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, 26 November 2013.
