Man charged with murder of teenager - Oxford

Thames and Chiltern Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has authorised officers from Thames Valley Police to charge a man with murder.

William Blencowe, aged 20, of Oxford Road, Banbury, was charged last night in connection with the death of a man in Oxford.

The charge relates to the murder of Connor Tremble, aged 17, who died in hospital on Saturday, 15 February 2014, following a stabbing incident, which occurred in Fairacres, Oxford, on Thursday, 13 February 2014.

Adrian Foster, Chief Crown Prosecutor for Thames and Chiltern Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said: "Following an investigation by Thames Valley Police, a file was forwarded to us to consider whether any criminal charges could be brought against William Blencowe.

"Having carefully reviewed all of the available evidence, Thames and Chiltern CPS authorised officers from Thames Valley Police to charge the man with murder.

"The charge is in connection with the death of 17-year-old Connor Tremble in Oxford.

"The decision to charge was taken in accordance with the Code for Crown Prosecutors."

Blencowe has been remanded in police custody to appear at Oxford Magistrates' Court today, Tuesday, 18 February 2014.
