Man charged with murder - St Albans

Thames and Chiltern Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has authorised officers from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit to charge a man with the murder of a man in St Albans.

Paul Crosbie, aged 26, of no fixed address in Camden, was charged today, Tuesday, 03 November 2015, with the murder of 20-year-old Emille 'Millz' Stapleton.

Emille died following an incident in London Road, St Albans, which occurred in the early hours of Saturday, 24 October 2015.

Adrian Foster, Chief Crown Prosecutor for Thames and Chiltern Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said: "Following an investigation by the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit, a file was forwarded to us to consider whether any criminal charges could be brought against Paul Crosbie.

"Having carefully reviewed all of the available evidence, Thames and Chiltern CPS authorised officers from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit to charge Paul Crosbie with the murder of 20-year-old Emille Stapleton.

"Emille died following an incident in London Road, St Albans, which occurred in the early hours of Saturday, 24 October 2015.

"The decision to charge was taken in accordance with the Code for Crown Prosecutors."

Crosbie has been remanded in police custody to appear at Hatfield Remand Court tomorrow, Wednesday, 04 November 2015.
