Man charged with murder - Chalfont St Peter

Thames and Chiltern Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has authorised officers from Thames Valley Police to charge a man with the murder of a man in Chalfont St Peter.

Odysseas Vafiadis, aged 70, of Birchdale, Gerrards Cross was charged yesterday, Thursday, 12 November 2015, with the murder of 69-year-old Paul Davidson.

Mr Davidson died on Monday, 09 November 2015, following an incident, which occurred shortly after 9pm on Friday, 06 November 2015, in Market Place, Chalfont St Peter.

Adrian Foster, Chief Crown Prosecutor for Thames and Chiltern Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said: "Following an investigation by Thames Valley Police, a file was forwarded to us to consider whether any criminal charges could be brought against Odysseas Vafiadis.

"Having carefully reviewed all of the available evidence, Thames and Chiltern CPS authorised officers from Thames Valley Police to charge Odysseas Vafiadis with the murder of 69-year-old Paul Davidson.

"Mr Davidson died on Monday, 09 November 2015, following an incident, which occurred shortly after 9pm on Friday, 06 November 2015, in Market Place, Chalfont St Peter.

"The decision to charge was taken in accordance with the Code for Crown Prosecutors."

Vafiadis has been remanded in police custody to appear at High Wycombe Magistrates' Court today, Friday, 13 November 2015.
