Man charged with murder - Buckinghamshire

Thames and Chiltern Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has authorised officers from Thames Valley Police to charge a man with murder.

Navin Mohan, aged 34, of Quaker Lane, Southall, London, was charged on Saturday, 27 June 2015, following the discovery of a woman's body in a lay-by in Buckinghamshire.

Anita Kapoor from Hayes, London was discovered by a member of the public at 8.36am on Tuesday, 23 June 2015, in undergrowth close to a lay-by on Amersham Road, A413, Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire.

A Home Office post mortem was carried out on Wednesday, 24 June 2015, and the cause of death was given as asphyxiation, due to compression of the neck.

Adrian Foster, Chief Crown Prosecutor for Thames and Chiltern Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said: "Following an investigation by Thames Valley Police, a file was forwarded to us to consider whether any criminal charges could be brought against Navin Mohan.

"Having carefully reviewed all of the available evidence, Thames and Chiltern CPS authorised officers from Thames Valley Police to charge the man with murder.

"The charge is in relation to the discovery of a woman's body in a lay-by in Buckinghamshire on Tuesday, 23 June 2015.

"The decision to charge was taken in accordance with the Code for Crown Prosecutors."

Mohanhas been remanded in police custody and is due to appear at High Wycombe Magistrates' Court today, Monday, 29 June 2015.
