Man charged with murder - Arborfield

Thames and Chiltern Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), has authorised officers from Thames Valley Police to charge a 30-year-old man with murder and attempted rape following the discovery of a woman’s body in a field in Arborfield, Berkshire earlier this week.

Glenn Nelson, of Eversley Road, Arborfield, has been charged with the murder of 39-year-old Krishnamaya Mabo, whose body was found near Robin Hood Copse at about 1pm on Monday, 03 June.

Baljit Ubhey OBE, Chief Crown Prosecutor for Thames and Chiltern Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said: "Following an investigation by Thames Valley Police, a file was forwarded to us to consider whether any criminal charges could be brought against Glenn Nelson.

"Having carefully reviewed all of the available evidence, Thames and Chiltern CPS authorised officers from Thames Valley Police to charge Nelson with murder and attempted rape.

"The charges are in relation to the murder of a 39-year-old woman, whose body was found in a field off Robin Hood Copse in Arborfield early afternoon on Monday, 03 June 2013.

"The decision to charge was taken in accordance with the Code for Crown Prosecutors."

Nelson has been remanded in police custody to appear before Reading Magistrates' Court this morning, Friday, 07 June 2013.
