Man charged with child sexual offences - High Wycombe

Thames and Chiltern Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has authorised officers from Thames Valley Police to charge a man with child sexual offences in High Wycombe.

John Waterhouse, aged 33, of Shelburne Road, High Wycombe, was charged yesterday, Tuesday, 28 July 2015, with sexual activity with a child aged 13-15, attempting to pervert the course of justice and three charges of rape of a female aged over 16.

The charges are in connection with offences allegedly committed between August 2014 and January 2015 in High Wycombe.

Adrian Foster, Chief Crown Prosecutor for Thames and Chiltern Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said: "Following an investigation by Thames Valley Police, a file was forwarded to us to consider whether any criminal charges could be brought against John Waterhouse.

"Having carefully reviewed all of the available evidence, Thames and Chiltern CPS authorised officers from Thames Valley Police to charge the man with five offences.

"The charges are in relation to incidents, which are alleged to have occurred between August 2014 and January 2015 in High Wycombe.

"The decision to charge was taken in accordance with the Code for Crown Prosecutors."

Waterhouse has been bailed and is due to appear at Wycombe Magistrates' Court on Thursday, 27 August 2015.

Criminal proceedings are active and defendants have the right to a fair trial. It is extremely important that there should be no commentary or reporting which could in any way prejudice these proceedings.
