Man charged in connection with death of a 25-year-old woman - Slough

Thames and Chiltern Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has authorised officers from Thames Valley Police to charge a man with murder.

Michael Wenham, aged 35, of Collingwood Road, Uxbridge, was charged last night in connection with the death of a woman in Slough.

Just before midday on Monday, 17 February 2014, the police was called to a property in Lowestoft Drive, Haymill.  A woman, believed to be 25-year-old Karolina Nowikiewicz from Northolt was found deceased within the property.

A Home Office post mortem established that the cause of death was an incised injury to the neck.

Adrian Foster, Chief Crown Prosecutor for Thames and Chiltern Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said: "Following an investigation by Thames Valley Police, a file was forwarded to us to consider whether any criminal charges could be brought against Michael Wenham.

"Having carefully reviewed all of the available evidence, Thames and Chiltern CPS authorised officers from Thames Valley Police to charge the man with murder.

"The charge is in connection with the death of a woman in Slough on Monday, 17 February 2014.

"The decision to charge was taken in accordance with the Code for Crown Prosecutors."

Wenham has been remanded in police custody to appear at Reading Magistrates' Court today, Wednesday, 19 February 2014.
