Man appears in court charged with murder of taxi driver

On Monday, 06 February 2012, a 26-year-old man appeared at Luton Crown Court accused of the murder of a Bedford taxi driver.

Daniel Rogers, of The Cloisters, Bedford is charged with the murder of 61-year-old Kempston cab driver Mehar Dhariwal.

Mr Dhariwal of Hillgrounds died on Sunday, 29 January 2012, having been assaulted in St Peter's Street, Bedford a week earlier.

Rogers was remanded in custody by Judge Richard Foster. He is due to appear again for a plea and case management hearing on 27 April 2012.
