A 40-year-old woman and 31-year-old man were jailed at Aylesbury Crown Court on Monday, 06 August 2012, for a total of nearly 20-years for the brutal rape of a teenager.

Elizabeth Seagrove, aged 40, from Thorney Lane North, Iver, was sentenced to 10-years and six months for rape and false imprisonment, plus a two year jail sentence for drug offences, which is to run concurrently.

Matthew Costello, aged 31, from Victoria Road, Farnham Common, was sentenced to nine years for rape and false imprisonment.

They were both found guilty of the offences by a jury following a trial in June.

The 18-year-old victim was staying with the offenders at Thorney Lane North. In the early hours of 30 October 2011, Seagrove discovered some money had gone missing from the address and blamed the victim for the theft. She punished the victim by slapping her and then arranged for her boyfriend, Costello, to rape her.

At 3.30am the couple drove the victim around for an hour searching for a place where her screams would not be heard and found a fly tipping site at Bottrells Lane, Amersham, where Seagrove held the victim down by her hair, placed a scarf in her mouth to stop her screaming, and then Costello raped her.
