Man charged with double murder - Banbury

Thames and Chiltern Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has authorised officers from Thames Valley Police to charge a man with the murder of two men in Banbury.

Raymond Morgan, aged 52 of Newland Road, Banbury, was charged last night, Wednesday, 4 October 2017, with two offences of murder.

Adrian Foster, Chief Crown Prosecutor for Thames and Chiltern Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said: "Following an investigation by Thames Valley Police, a file was forwarded to us to consider whether any criminal charges could be brought against Raymond Morgan.

"Having carefully reviewed all of the available evidence, Thames and Chiltern CPS authorised officers from Thames Valley Police to charge Raymond Morgan with two offences of murder.

"The charges are in connection with an incident, which occurred in Newland Road, Banbury on the evening of Sunday, 1 October 2017, where the bodies of two men (Adrian Fannon, aged 39, and Mark Pawley, aged 25) were found inside a property.

"The decision to charge was taken in accordance with the Code for Crown Prosecutors."

Raymond Morgan was remanded in police custody to appear at Banbury Magistrates' Court this morning, Thursday, 5 October 2017.
