Four men charged with murder - Bedford

Thames and Chiltern Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has authorised officers from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit (MCU) to charge four men with murder, attempted murder, and possession of an offensive weapon.

The charges are in connection with the murder of 19-year-old Isaac Stone in Costin Street, Bedford on 25 January 2014.

Details of the four men charged are as follows:

  • Fahim Khan, aged 19, of Fenlake Road, Bedford
  • Mohammed Hussain, aged 21, of Maitland Road, Bedford
  • Javed Miah, aged 20, of Costin Street, Bedford
  • Rubel Miah, aged 18, of Costin Street, Bedford.

Adrian Foster, Chief Crown Prosecutor for Thames and Chiltern CPS said: "Following an investigation by the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire MCU, a file was forwarded to us to consider whether any criminal charges could be brought against these four men.

"Having carefully reviewed all of the available evidence, Thames and Chiltern CPS authorised officers from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire MCU to charge the men with murder, attempted murder, and possession of an offensive weapon.

"The charges relate to the murder of 19-year-old Isaac Stone in Costin Street, Bedford on 25 January 2014.

"The decision to charge was taken in accordance with the Code for Crown Prosecutors."

All four men have been remanded in custody to appear before Luton Magistrates' Court today, Friday, 14 February 2014.
