Former Aylesbury man charged with child sex offences


An Abingdon man, formerly from Aylesbury, has appeared before Aylesbury Magistrates’ Court today, Friday, 24 June, after being charged with multiple child sex offences by Thames Valley Police, on the advice of the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).

Brian Leslie Bailey, 42, who is unemployed, has been charged as follows:

12 counts of indecent assault against six different boys under 16 years; three counts of inciting a boy under 16 years to commit acts of gross indecency; three counts of possessing indecent photographs of children; six counts of making indecent photographs of children; one count of taking indecent photographs of children and four charges of possession of cannabis with intent to supply.

A CPS lawyer said: "I can confirm that I have authorised a total of 29 charges against Brian Bailey, of the High Street, Abingdon, for sex offences against a number of young male victims.

"The assault and incitement crimes took place predominantly in Aylesbury with other offences occurring in Abingdon, at various dates from 1988 until 2010.

"Bailey was charged on 14 June. He was released on bail to attend court on 24 June. He will next appear at Aylesbury Crown Court on 4 July, for a preliminary hearing."
