Eight men charged with sexual offences - Aylesbury

Thames and Chiltern Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has authorised officers from Thames Valley Police to charge eight men with sexual offences including rape.

The eight men were charged yesterday evening, Wednesday, 03 September 2014, after a series of warrants were executed in Aylesbury and other Buckinghamshire towns on Tuesday, 02 September 2014.  Details of the eight men and their charges are as follows:

  • Arshad Jani, aged 32, of Cousins Drive, Aylesbury, charged with conspiracy to rape a girl aged 13/14/15, offender aged 18 or over engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a girl aged 13 to 15, and rape a girl aged 13/14/15.
  • Vikram Singh, aged 45, of Cannock Road, Aylesbury, charged with four charges of rape of a girl under the age of 16, three charges of rape of a girl under the age of 13, and administering a substance with the intent of committing a sexual offence.
  • Asif Hussain, aged 32, of Rossal Place, Milton Keynes, charged with three charges of rape of a girl under the age of 13, and arranging/facilitating the prostitution of a child.
  • Jerome Joe, aged 35, of Pightle Crescent, Buckingham, charged with offender aged 18 or over engaging in sexual activity with a girl aged 13 to 15.
  • Sohail Qamar, aged 40, of St Annes Road, Aylesbury, charged with assaulting a person thereby occasioning them actual bodily harm (ABH), causing/inciting a girl aged 13 to 15 to engage in sexual activity, and raping a woman aged 16 or over.
  • Akbari Khan, aged 35, of Mandeville Road, Aylesbury, charged with two charges of rape of a girl aged 13/14/15, conspiracy to rape a girl aged 13/14/15, and two charges of administering a substance with the intent of committing a sexual offence.
  • Taimoor Khan, aged 28, of Highbridge Road, Aylesbury, charged with two charges of raping a girl aged 13/14/15, conspiracy to rape a girl aged 13/14/15, and administering a substance with the intent of committing a sexual offence.
  • Sajid Ali, aged 34, of Brockhurst Road, Chesham, charged with rape of a girl aged 13/14/15, conspiracy to rape a girl aged 13/14/15, sexual activity with a girl aged 13 to 15, and administering a substance with the intent of committing a sexual offence.

Adrian Foster, Chief Crown Prosecutor for Thames and Chiltern Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said: "Following an investigation by Thames Valley Police, a file was forwarded to us to consider whether any criminal charges could be brought against these men.

"Having carefully reviewed all of the available evidence, Thames and Chiltern CPS authorised officers from Thames Valley Police to charge the men with various sexual offences including rape.

"The charges follow a series of warrants, which were executed in Aylesbury and other Buckinghamshire towns on Tuesday, 02 September 2014.

"The decision to charge was taken in accordance with the Code for Crown Prosecutors."

The men have been remanded in police custody to appear at Milton Keynes Magistrates' Court today, Thursday, 04 September 2014.

Three other men, aged 30, 40 and 30 arrested in connection with this investigation have been released without charge.

Criminal proceedings are active and defendants have the right to a fair trial. It is extremely important that there should be no commentary or reporting which could in any way prejudice these proceedings.
