Drug dealer jailed - South Oxhey

A man from Carpenders Park found with cocaine and cannabis in a car in South Oxhey has today, Friday, 06 November 2015, been jailed for 21 months.

Colin Webb, himself a user of drugs, had decided to become a dealer.

At St Albans Crown Court he pleaded guilty to possessing cocaine with intent to supply. He admitted a similar charge of possessing cannabis with intent to supply.

Judge Andrew Bright QC was told how on 13 April this year, police on duty in South Oxhey stopped Webb, who was behind the wheel of a red Nissan Micra.

Miss Sadaf Etemadi, prosecuting for Thames and Chiltern Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), said officers could instantly smell the tell-tale aroma of cannabis coming from inside the car. A search of Webb revealed he had cocaine and cannabis in the car. There were plastic bags, digital scales and even glucose, which was to be used as a cutting agent.

Webb, of Compton Place, Carpenders Park, was arrested and later charged with the offences.

The court was told the value of the drugs found on Webb that day were between £1,800 and £2,070.

Judge Bright jailed him for 21 months, telling Webb: "The offences are so serious it would be inappropriate for me to suspend the sentence."
