Burglar jailed - Hertfordshire

A burglar who targeted homes in Hertfordshire was jailed for 3 years today, Friday, 18 January 2013.

James O'Leary, 24, tried to break into a house at Four Winds in Newgate Street, Goff's Oak, was involved with others in a conspiracy to burglar homes in the area, and broke into a house in Hancock Court, Borehamwood in which a Dell laptop, watch, jewellery and BMW key were taken.

O'Leary, of no fixed address, admitted attempted burglary, burglary, and conspiracy to burgle in September and October last year when he appeared at St Albans Crown Court on Friday. He had two previous convictions for burglary.

Jailing O'Leary, Judge John Plumstead told him: "Breaking into someone else's property is always serious. You have previous convictions for burglary and are liable for a three year sentence. If you go burgling again the sky is the limit."
