Burglar caught on camera with stolen laptop - Milton Keynes/Oxford

A burglar caught on camera with a laptop he had stolen from a house just a few hours before appeared at Aylesbury Crown Court on Friday, 13 September 2013, and was jailed for three years.

Alexander Vincent Wright, aged 23, of no fixed abode, admitted the burglary, and asked for four other offences to be taken into consideration.

Wright broke into the house in Beanhill, Milton Keynes, on the morning of Tuesday, 03 September by forcing open a ground floor window. He stole a laptop, a PlayStation 3, and games.

He then took the stolen laptop to a market in Milton Keynes and sold it to a trader, who took a photo of him as a form of identification.

The four offences which were taken into consideration were:

  • A burglary at a property in Lark Hill, Oxford, which occurred on 25 August.  An iPod and foreign currency were stolen.
  • A burglary at St Cross Road, Oxford, which occurred on 25 August.  A Samsung Galaxy tablet was stolen.
  • A burglary at a property in Chalfont Road, Oxford, which occurred on 27 August.  War medals, jewellery, a wallet, and cash were stolen.
  • A burglary at a property in Stamford Avenue, Springfield, Milton Keynes, which occurred between 28 August and 01 September.  Laptops and a PlayStation 3 were stolen.
