Bank manager charged with fraud offences


A bank manager from Milton Keynes has been charged with fraud. Lee Newton, 32, was charged by police on 16 September, on the advice of the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).

CPS charging lawyer, Rachel Sheppard, speaking from the Aylesbury office, said: 'I have advised police with charging Lee Newton with 10 counts of fraud by abuse of position, under the Fraud Act 2006. The offences took place between September 2008 and January 2011, whilst the defendant was employed by Lloyds TSB as a bank manager, firstly at the branch in Buckingham and later at the Wolverton branch.'

Newton is due to appear at Milton Keynes magistrates' court on 4 October.
