Attempted murder - Ascot - Two men charged

Thames and Chiltern Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has authorised officers from Thames Valley Police to charge two men in connection with an incident where a man was seriously injured in Ascot last Sunday morning.

At around 3.20am on Sunday, 14 October 2012, a 24-year-old man from London was hit by a blue Volkswagen Golf R32, as he was walking near the Esso Garage in Ascot High Street.  The man was taken to hospital for treatment where he remains in a critical condition.

Ricky Clarke-Dilly, aged 22, from Grampian Way, Slough, has been charged with attempted murder, section 18 GBH with intent, and driving whilst over the prescribed alcohol limit.

Ryan Quartermaine, aged 20, from Mead Avenue, Slough, has been charged with perverting the course of justice.

Both men have been remanded in custody to appear at Slough Magistrates' Court this morning, Wednesday, 17 October 2012.
