Man charged with two counts of robbery in Bedford and Birmingham

On the direction of the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), Bedfordshire Police has charged Simeon Bernard, 24, of no fixed abode, with two counts of robbery.
CPS District Crown Prosecutor, Lynn Gavins, speaking from the Bedford office, said: 'I can confirm that the CPS advised police to charge Simeon Bernard with two counts of robbery. One charge relates to a robbery that occurred in Bedford on 17 April this year and the other to a subsequent robbery that occurred in Birmingham on 4 June.
'Bernard appeared before Bedford magistrates on 22 June, where he was remanded in custody. He will next appear at Luton Crown Court on 12 September, for a plea hearing.'
